I built a Herr Engineering 1/2 A Cub. It has a 48 inch wingspan. Please tell me what the "1/2 A" stands for.

1/2A is a class of rc airplane size that is still in use, even though the class was defined many decades ago when rc flying was quite new.
The class, to the best of my knowledge, caters for planes with IC engines up to .061 cu.in.
