The bare Pup fuselage

The bare Pup fuselage

This is the beginnings of the plane for the scale Monosoupape.
As the rotary inside the cowling will be scale it seems appropriate to build everything else as near scale possible.
At such a small size balsa is plenty strong enough at true scale sizes although some things, like the 1/32x1/32 rear decking stringers, are actually two times too big!
The fuselage is correctly braced with mono filament fishing line.
The bare fuselage structure weighs just 5.1gm.
Hopefully with a 600mAh LiPo and 3 channels the Pup will weigh no more than 140 gm all up - but there is still a long way to go.

Nice size Pup
by: Pete

Looks like a great build; for me the 2' wingspan range is the ideal electric size - small enough to keep the powertrain costs down yet not so small that is disappears out of view too quickly. Keep us posted with progress!
