Battery for E-flite J-3 Cub

Pete or Anyone,
I have an E-flite J-3 Cub 25 ARF, I'm trying to install a 2826/6 EMax Brushless Outrunner Motor with the EMax 60 Amp ESC. It calls for a 4 Cell 14.8 Volt 4000 MAh Battery but this battery is too big for the battery compartment on this airplane - can I use the battery that E-flite calls for, 25 power motor which is the 3 cell 4200 Mah with the 2826/6 EMax motor?
Thank You
AC McLeod

I've just been searching for the specifications for that EMax motor but can't find them online - do you have a link to that motor? It may well be very underpowered with a 3S if it's designed for a 4S pack. Is there no way you can modify the battery compartment?

2.4 GHz

I Purchased the Parkflyer large scale 182 foam RTF, it has brushless motor 950kv with 50 Amp ESC. I changed it over to a 2.4GHz, everything works fine except the 950kv motor it will start some times and run for a few seconds then stops, try to start the motor again will not start again.
I'm using the Exceed 6 channel FS-CT6X Receiver and Transmitter which is 2.4GHz will this work or do I need another ESC?

2.4GHz

Changing the radio over to 2.4GHz shouldn't really make a difference to the ESC and motor operation, so long as the ESC can plug directly in to the throttle slot of the Rx.
I would say it's more than likely a problem with the motor or ESC itself, or even the battery pack not being charge properly - if the pack is at the LVC (low voltage cutoff) point of the ESC then the motor will stop and start repeatedly as the pack voltage fluctuates around the LVC.
