'Curare' F3a pattern plane

'Curare' - old design F3a pattern plane from the 80s

'Curare' - old design F3a pattern plane from the 80s

Built from scratch, I have made some modifications: tail wheel and mains retracts, wider fuselage, flaprons instead of flaps and ailrons, and I moved the rudder servo to just in front of the tail with a nice hatch. The original canopy detached during the test flight, so I had to build another one :-(
It flies great with a Thunder Tiger 61 ringed engine, and 8u Futaba radio system with 9001 coreless motored servos.

Curare finally !
by: J T

This airplane has been on my want list ever since I saw one back in the 70's, I finaly bought one on flea bay...
However, this one was named an OPS (all out pattern ship), but I have to say that it's definitely a Curare. I had another knock off glass kit a few years back called Cure Air, I wasn't all that impresed so I sold it. Must be several around with a different name.
Does MK still own the copyright? Shame, since they don't produce the kit any longer.I know there are some making short kits now.

I don't know...
by: dekel

I got the plan from a friend who's been with me on a course, I don't know where he got it from.
Actualy a made all these modifications because the plan was missing a lot of details, I think that someone just copied it from the original plan...

jeje -
I am interested in building a Curare but would be interested in a glass fuselage if it is not too racy after shipment.

curare 2 meter wanted
by: shortlandings

During winter I always build something and this year I want to build a 2 meter Curare. I want to modernize it for the OS 1.40 engine with tuned pipe and have engine inverted, retracts, plug in wings with servo in each wing, and all three servos in the tail.
I predict with the use of pumped engine the tank can be centered on the balance point and it may well win the nats one more time..... so where can i buy the original plans.....I did not find the plans on MAN plans site? shortlandings needs help on this one.

Curare
by: Marcus

Found a Curare 40 built but uncovered, will finish it by spring. Lovely model with retracts (more or less stuck...)
The negative tail is nice.
Think it will get a 46 but my OS 40 FSR fits perfect - have no intention to start the box-new classic engine. A 60 is too large for the slim nose.
Flew a 60 30 years ago - still one of the best!
