Hanger 9 Alpha 40 DSM2
RTF gas trainer
The Hanger 9 Alpha 40 DSM2 gas rc airplane is the updated version of the popular and successful original Alpha 40 trainer, now discontinued.
The original Alpha 40 has taught many new rc pilots to fly, and the new version brings this favorite trainer into the modern 2.4GHz radio control world.
The rc system supplied with the airplane is the Spektrum DX5e - a good quality 2.4GHz system that, while the most basic of the Spektrum radio system range, is perfect for getting to grips with radio control flying. The DX5e has all the fundamental features that you'll need as a beginner rc pilot, and the 2.4GHz DSM2 technology ensures interference-free flying.
This package actually makes the Hanger 9 Alpha 40 the first RTF gas powered rc airplane to be sold with a spread spectrum radio system as standard, and is indeed a sign of things to come. Up to now, only a handful of RTF electric airplanes and helicopters have had the luxury of DSM2 systems supplied with.
The engine supplied with the new Hanger 9 Alpha 40 is still the trusted Evolution Trainer Power System as in the previous Alpha 40. This is a solid engine that's actually broken in and run at the factory, that's one less thing for you to worry about! The 3-bladed propeller gives good, steady flight performance at lower noise levels than other gas rc trainers.
And although the looks of the new Hanger 9 Alpha 40 have been modernized, the fundamental design is still there ensuring stable and forgiving flight characteristics, exactly what you need when learning to fly rc airplanes.
