Firebird Freedom - Ideal for Beginners

I just started flying RC airplanes about a year ago and the Firebird Freedom is by far the best one out of five different models I have tried.
It survived numerous crashes with little more than a scratch thanks to the sturdy wings and rubber nose cone.
I finally bent the tail section so that it will no longer fly but spare parts are readily available for a reasonable price.
A flight simulator is also a big help in learning how to fly without any penalty for crashing.
I use a paved road as a runway to avoid any chance of getting my fingers chopped during a hand launch (not good for a guitar player). It does tend to pull to one side on the runway due to motor torque but I have not found this to be a big problem. I would highly recommend a Firebird Freedom airplane to anyone who wants to get started in the hobby.

The Hobbyzone Firebird Freedom is easy to fly and will almost land by itself. I learned on this with no help, it is forgiving and flies easily on 50% throttle or less which is ideal as a beginner.
Fifteen minutes per battery is easily achieved. One point though; there are two thumb screws that hold on the tail wheel but they also change the angle of the whole tail.
They are critical to getting it to fly well - most people who have problems with this plane have these adjusted incorrectly. This information is near the back of the manual, and should be in the first few pages due to its importance.
Not a great plane for rolling take offs as it tends to turn on the ground. Can be a bit giddy at full trottle. If you modify the box it comes in by cutting a space for the tail wheel the plane can be transported in the box and takes seconds to setup or dismantle. I recommend the Hobbyzone Firebird Freedom to any beginner. Value for money.
