How I was an idiot

by Quinn
(Toledo, Ohio)

I had my E-flite Apprentice on my kitchen table and it was on and the transmitter. I pushed servo reverse for throttle and whoooosh it flew of the table slamming into the wall!
Thank god it only broke the motor mount. What should I do?

We all have little moments like that Quinn - I think you got off lightly, it could have been much worse.
You can buy a replacement motor mount for the Apprentice: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL2734

Consider it a lesson learned! ;-)

unplug the motor
by: Bret

Had electric biplane on kitchen table,(all plugged in). Decided to REBIND the receiver....wrong move. ESC beeped, motor started wide open, flew off the table about four feet into the door! Chipped the paint off the door, plane was ok. Those plastic props take a beating!

I did similar

I did that with my P-51! I was taxiing it on the ground, but go too close to the edge. Thinking the throttle switch reverse would 'reverse' throttle direction, I flicked it. It sped off into the grass, nipping on the ground.
