by Greg
(Green Bay)

2 cell 430mAh Li-Po batts charged at 0.5 amp have blown up like ballons, two battery packs already. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using a Li-Po specific charger? You're charging at just over 1C which isn't good for many packs, particularly the cheaper poorer quality ones. Charging at a lower rate (1C would be .43A, 0.8C would be 0.34A) is better and might prevent the swelling.
Don't use them if they're badly swollen, they need to be carefully disposed of. I would recommend contacting the seller if they're new packs, getting their advice as well.
