Locator Beacons

by Helen
(South Wales, Britain.)

My step dad flys radio controlled planes and recently lost one over a wooded area, I was wondering if there is a locator beacon small enough to fit inside a plane if it goes down so that it can be found easier. If so the beacon and a locator gadget information would be useful please. By the way lost plane still not found.

Hi Helen - you're in luck! There is indeed such a thing, it's called a lost model locator. Google that phrase and see what comes up, and here's just one example: http://www.skykingrcproducts.com/accessories/lostmodel/lost_rc_model_alarm.html.
It's also a good idea to put a name and phone number on rc planes, members of the public have been known to find them! Good luck with the search.
