Low fuel?

Okie swinger crash

Okie swinger crash

I built this little plane from a free set of plans from a magazine, powered by an Enya SS25.
Flew absolutely fantastic but the fuel tank was small and I forgot how log I had been up (having too much fun). I noticed that I was losing height and throttled up a bit but still fell, tried to level out but it was in the distance and crashed through some trees 3 fields away.
It took a while to find but I got it back, repaired with a bigger tank. I have since bought one of those little kitchen timers just in case I forget again.

Dead sticks are safe!
by: Pete

Bad luck Danny - running out of fuel isn't usually a problem, sounds like the plane was just in the wrong place for you to get it back to the field safely for a dead stick landing. A timer is good, so long as you remember to use it; landing with fuel left in the tank is the best option!
