ParkZone Radians!

by Scotti finnie
(Linlithgow, Scotland)

Hey I have 12 Radians, one which has been modified for all weather conditions, I like to share flying with others so am currently teaching folk to fly here in Scotland on my own private farm.
I have tested the Radian out 'til the wings have folded and have to say that it is an absolute delight to fly; I had a competition 3 weeks ago and used my Radian to compare it to my rival's (£600) and it achieved a flight of 1hr and 23 min and my rival's 19min! Just shows you what thought has gone into this truly great desiqn!
My modified Radian has 3 high torque servos operating air brake, rudder and elevator. Don't be afraid of your Radian and start pushing the envelope - it takes a lot to break one!
Happy flying all,
Scotti f

12 Parkzone Radians - wow!! kind of a Radian flight school by the sounds of things ;-)
Nice work Scottie, and it's great that you're teaching others to fly. I have to say, I've had my eye on a Radian for a while, they do look really nice planes for sure.
Nice upgrades you've done and well done with the competition - was that a club event?

Help
by: Copilot

I must have missed something. I took mine out of the box, installed the wings and elevator, charged the battery and went flying like they said.
I opened the throttle and tossed it, it did a loop. I cut the throttle but it just kept climbing, stall, then climbed again stalled. I could not control it. It is suposed to fly right out of the box. If I had known this I would have checked the balance and given it a gentle toss into tall grass. Did I miss something? I've been flying over 50 years.
Please help. Al

Pre-flight checks?
by: Pete

Hi Al,
I have to admit, yours is the first negative tale I've heard about these Radians.
Personally I would never just throw a plane from the box without checking everything, especially balance - even if it is RTF!
Have you checked it over since that flight? Check the CG, the control surface deflections and battery condition. And try a more gentle launch, keeping it level as you launch it ;-)
