RC Airplane Rebuild

by Tim H
(Maurice La )

I have a Megatech "Merlin" park flyer. I am moving up to a line of "bind & fly" planes using Spektrum radios. I want to convert the "Merlin" to use new Spektrum receivers & servos. I want to keep the electric motor and batteries if I can.
I need guidance, I have never tried rebuilding before.

Hi,
I'm not familiar with the Merlin but I've just seen a few pics of it and you shouldn't have too many issues.
You need a lightweight DSM2 receiver, I would say the AR6100 or 6100e should be fine. And then micro servos, they don't have to be Spektrum.
I can't offer exact 'how to' advice because I don't know how the plane is already set up for control surfaces, but if you want to join our forum then maybe we can chat about it in there.
