RC frequencies

by Joe
(Marion IN USA)

I have an older Pro Line radio, 72.320. It needs batteries, but I need to know if it is still legal to use here at home, I would like to teach my grandchildren how to fly.
At one time I flew RC competiion, I wasn't really very good but I did compete and won a few contests before I quit.

From what I gather Joe, you have a frequency channel that is not legal. It's from the previous system of 80khz spacing, no longer in use and not permitted by the AMA.
You might be able to send off the rc set and have it converted, but I wouldn't like to say for sure.

Your grandkids will love the hobby, I'm sure, so it's worth getting something more up to date in my opinion. I'd play it safe and invest in a new system, 2.4GHz if you can, or even a good brand second hand 72MHz set from eBay, that's another option.

Sounds like they are going to have a great tutor!
