RC heli goes in reverse as it lifts off

by Siska

Before lift off my rc helicopter starts drifting in reverse and the reverse lever is in neutral position. In garage so no wind affect.

Flying it in a garage might be causing some problems, if the garage is small. The downwash from the blades cannot get cleared away, and so the turbulent air bounces off the floor and the walls and upsets the helicopter.
Is the swashplate level when the transmitter sticks are centered? It needs to be - if it is slanting backwards (lower at the rear, higher at the front) then this will cause aft cyclic which will of course make the heli go backwards.
Finally, check the balance of the helicopter. It should balance about its main shaft when you pick it up by the flybar or rotor hub. If the tail hangs low then it is tail heavy, and this will also cause problems.
