Sailboat Transmitter on an RC Airboat

by Richard
(Largo, FL)

Having problems with running an air boat with brushless motor, I'm attempting to operate with a pistol grip transmitter but am experiencing difficulty. Should I use an older 'stick' type? Would appreciate any assistance available, thanks.

Hi Richard, it's hard to say without knowing details about the model and the exact problems you're having, but technically speaking it shouldn't make a difference - both types of transmitter do exactly the same job.

Thanks for your comment! Found that since I'm using a brushless airplane motor and related airplane ESC I cannot use the boat transmitter and esc which has a brushed motor and corresponding ESC.
Using a Spectrum 6di set up for helicopters.....this unit works very well!!! Guess in my thinking, I have to 'forget' the boat part of the air-boat and concentrate on the use of strickly airplane operating equipment. Thanks again for your assistance...
