5 O'clock Charlie

I gave my son Jake his first RC plane for Xmas, unfortunatly the local hobby store sold me an advanced plane and not a starter/novice one. My mistake for not doing my homework.
Anyhow, we did our reading up on flying, did some taxi-ing runs and then went to the air. He was doing very well, got the plane up about 150ft and got it stable. The plane, a T-28 Trojan, is a fast little sucker and when he started to try some turns it got away from him and went into a death dive......the picture tells the rest.

I am off to buy some parts and get him back in the saddle. I figure if he can learn to fly with this hot rod he will be that far ahead when and if he wants to go really advanced, I just hope he learns quickly, this is an expensive hobby!!!

Thanks for your site, VERY informative and helpful!

In at the deep end!

Oh no, poor Jake! The T-28 definitely isn't a beginners airplane, but it is a nice model though!
Yep, if Jake can learn to fly on a T-28 then he'll be way ahead - and hopefully this disaster won't be repeated too soon!
Glad you've found the site helpful Jeremy, thanks for the comment at the end ;-)
