CC Lee C17e Traveller

Hello,
I'm going to write a brief review about the CC Lee C17e Traveller, which I think needs some credit as to what a fantastic plane it is.
I'm not a first time flyer so I do have some basic knowledge on basic RC flight, but no more than 2 channel planes.

The C17e Traveller is a taildragger biplane of the well known staggerwing. It's a foam construction and has a striking red colour, with yellowish, flame-like patterns leading off the leading edge of the wing. Also a servo rudder, a proportional throttle and a selection of 4 different holes for the servo rod. It is simplistic, but does have some fantastic flight characteristics.

My first flight was fruitful, but its characteristics were not a huge surprise, as I've had one of these planes before. However, later on my maiden flight I was caught in a crosswind 'landing' on grass and snapped a propeller and snapped the tail cleanoff, with just the rudder servo rod and ariel holding it in one piece.
After much swearing and cursing, not with the plane, but at myself, I fixed it and was soon out in the field for another few flights. These were great flights, and showed me properly what the plane could do. Less wind this time allowed more to be done and soon I was swooping, and doing some motorless gliding and lazy circles.

The plane's two staggered wings and red colour all adds to the general apperance which you certainly notice in the air. The plane is quite robust, but won't take a dive into the ground at any great speed. I've yet to try concrete or tarmac landings with THIS plane, and would be a very differant experience to me as a taildragger biplane, for landing!

I personally adore the plane, and it really looks fabulous in the sky. However, the red paint can scratch under finger nails, and it can have a twitchy handling character in the sky with wind, so absolute beginners beware! But the value is simply suberb. All in all, BUY IT!!!
