E-flite Ultra Micro 4-Site
Well, it had to happen! The new E-flite Ultra Micro 4-Site marks another stage of evolution of the radio control flying hobby - micro 3D flight!
Using the same innovative technology as found in E-flite's micro mCX helicopter and the ParkZone Sukhoi, the Ultra-Micro 4-Site is a 'flat foamie' style 3D capable biplane perfectly suited to indoor flying, or outdoors on completely still days.
It was, of course, inevitable that such a plane would hit the stores sooner or later; the rc flying hobby has developed so much in recent years as components have become smaller and more advanced. E-flite and related brands like ParkZone have led the way in bringing us affordable RTF micro-flight, and the Ultra-Micro 4-Site represents the current pinnacle of this rapidly expanding sector of the hobby.
The featherweight AS2000L servos for elevator and rudder are integrated in to the receiver/ESC unit while the ailerons enjoy one 'long throw' AS2000L servo each, to achieve the desired deflection amount for good 3D flying. This full-function control means the 4-Site offers precise control for experienced 3D pilots and just about every 3D maneuver is possible in the right hands.
Power is supplied from a 1S 150mAH Li-Po pack, as found on the mCX and mSR helicopters and ParkZone Ultra Micro flyers and an 8.5mm coreless brushed motor.
The E-flite Ultra-Micro 4-Site really is an excellent little plane indeed and, while not exactly suitable for beginners, is sure to be a huge seller for E-flite. Let's hear Horizon Hobby's Jim Booker say a bit more about it...
