Getting started

by Warren

I really find RC planes interesting and I am very creative when it comes to structure and plans. I have already built the framework, what electronics do I need to build a 3 channel plane?

You need the radio gear itself which will include transmitter, receiver and servos. You have the option of buying a traditional MHz system or the newer 2.4GHz system, there are many sets to choose from.
If your plane is going to be electric powered then you need motor, electronic speed controller (ESC) and battery pack, all of which must be compatible with each other and in accordance with the component specifications and limits.
Exactly which components you need depends on the size, design and weight of the plane, and what sort of performance you desire.
