Hand launch gone wrong!

The damage

The damage

I was getting ready to fly my Hobbico Superstar EP, everything was ready to go. I decided to hand launch it because it was its first flight and it was light enough that you could hand launch it.

Well as it left my Dad's hand it did a hard right turn and stalled out. The stall then caused it to go into a full throttle nose dive. At the end it broke the propeller and broke the nose all the way back to the main wing.
After a couple days of cutting away the broken parts I rebuilt it and it works just fine.

Bad luck...
by: Pete

I'm always scared of hand launching gas planes, I prefer to take off. I bet you'll take off next time!
That's bad luck that it happened, but the main thing is that you've repaired the damage, and it's flying again :-)

I'm glad you were able to re-build it and get it flying again. Believe it or not I am also from Corydon, Indiana.
