With my wife's blessing and a pretty good sized gift certificate I made the leap into a 30 size high performance helicopter.
The reviews, videos and talk among experienced pilots was too hard to ignore. Besides, I have a plan.....

Aerial photography just sounded so challenging and rewarding. So the question became which bird will best do the job with reasonable flight times and payload? All I needed to hear was "15 to 20 minutes"... Yeah, even longer if conditions permit. That's how Mikado made the cut.

It wasn't an easy build. In fact, it was at times incredibly difficult, and it took countless hours just to finish the airframe. Setting it up took equal time.

So I'm off into the world of arial photography and loving the idea as I research all the logistics of camera downlinks, video and of course the laws & licensing. I've got an excellent mount with servo tilt and am getting the necessary practice before I lift even more money in the air.

Most of the excitement continues to be the idea of accomplishing something that could very well pay off, literally.
Most importantly, the RC helicopter adventure is non-stop discovery for this old man. Now I'd better keep my wife happy, and happy to continue supporting this whole thing!
