Megatech 'Airstrike'

The Megatech Airstrike is an electric rc airplane that is designed for the novice, with a classic high wing trainer design and is a popular choice for a first time multi-channel electric model, though it has to be said that the newer Freedom Flyer is taking its place in this role.

Megatech Airstrike 3 channel electric rc airplane

The Airstrike is 3 channel with control to motor, rudder and elevator and features a special 'cut-off' circuit that automatically reduces motor power when the battery is nearing the end of its charge. This means that you'll know when it's time to land but you'll still have enough power left in reserve to get the plane lined up properly for a decent landing exactly where you want to land, rather than the engine suddenly dying without warning and leaving you with a long walk to retrieve the model!

The construction of the Airstrike is primarily of ABS plastic which is a very robust material, so it can handle any bouncy landings that are all part of learning to fly rc.
It also means that the plane is strong enough to perform basic aerobatics such as loops, barrel rolls and stall turns - but these kind of maneuvers are best left alone until you've got a few hours under you belt of course!

The Airstrike comes RTF (Ready To Fly) and is assembled within just a few minutes. So from taking delivery of your Airstrike, you can be flying in no time at all, allowing for battery charging times of course.

Once assembled the only thing left to do is charge the motor battery pack and install the radio control gear batteries, which you will need to purchase separately.

Summary: the Airstrike is a low cost electric rc airplane that will suit your needs if you're looking to buy a simple RTF 3 channel model either as an introduction to multi-channel radio control flying, or as a natural step up from simpler 1 or 2 channel electric airplanes.
The newer Freedom Flyer, however, is more suited to general sport flying and has a 4th channel aileron upgrade kit available.
