The real Vought Corsair, built by Goodyear, is a legendary fighter that saw much service during the Second World War, as well as the Korean War amongst others. Originally designed for aircraft carrier use in the US Navy, the F4U Corsair had a very distinctive wing shape known as an 'inverted gull wing'. This enabled a shorter landing gear assembly to be used while still giving adequate clearance for the larger than normal propeller. The shorter landing gear was necessary for saving valuable space inside the folding wing.
The F4U Corsair boasted the largest prop of any fighter of that era, it also had the most powerful engine available at that time.

The ParkZone F4U Corsair, like the other electric RTF warbirds in the range, is an excellent scale airplane that needs no assembly work. Everything needed to get the Corsair airborne and on its first mission is in the box, including tx batteries.

The difference with the Corsair is that it comes with the latest 2.4GHz spread spectrum DSM2 radio system, giving interference-free flying with precise proportional control to 4 channels; motor, aileron, elevator and rudder. ParkZone's other RTF warbirds are 3 channel to motor, aileron and elevator - a much better set up than motor, rudder and elevator.

Scale 3-blade prop on the CorsairA nice detail is the scale 3-bladed propeller and accurately shaped spinner. This prop is connected to a 480 brushless outrunner motor being powered by an 11.1V 1800mAh lithium polymer battery pack - a combination that gives the ParkZone F4U Corsair a very powerful punch with plenty of torque, just like the real Corsair!

An accurate paint scheme, the 'Marines Dream' decal and pilot all add to the realism, and this plane really does look good in the air. A non-scale feature is the fixed landing gear, but this is removable so the plane can be hand launched and flown without.

All of ParkZone's 'One Box Purchase' RTF warbirds are excellent electric rc airplanes and while the F4U Corsair is pricier than the rest, it is still great value for money and will certainly turn heads in the park!
