The ParkZone Vapor
The ParkZone Vapor represents the latest in electric RTF mini/micro rc airplane technology, and is going to be a very popular choice for beginner and expert rc fans alike...
ParkZone have long been producing quality electric RTF (Ready To Fly) radio control airplanes, and their 'One Box Purchase' models have been a massive success. And staying at the forefront of rc technology, ParkZone's Blade CX2 coaxial electric rc helicopter was the first mass-produced model to come with the new 2.4GHz spread spectrum radio gear as standard; now that luxury is being extended to more of their models, the Vapor being one of them.
Because of the carbon fiber construction, the ParkZone Vapor weighs in at a mere 0.4oz, its ultra light weight and small size (14" wing span) make it an ideal candidate for indoor flying. And because it's so light, its flying speed is very low making it a very docile little rc airplane. A dining table can provide ample take-off and landing space, and a good size living room ample airspace!
As with many electric RTF airplanes these days, the Vapor uses a small but powerful lithium polymer (Li-Po) battery, giving flight times of around 15 minutes after a 20 minute or so charge. 3 channel control makes it much more maneuverable than a 2 channel indoor model and the 2.4GHz DSM2 radio technology prevents any unwanted interference.
For charging the battery, aside from the included single-cell charger, an option is this 4 Port charger. It's an excellent idea if you have multiple cells and will charge four of the Vapor cells at once - that's a lot of flying!
An option with the Vapor, if you already have a 'DSM2' compatible transmitter, is to purchase the Bind-N-Fly version. At around just $100, this is an excellent value mini rc airplane indeed! Vapor-compatible transmitters include the Spektrum DX5e, DX6i, DX7, DX7se, JR X9303 and 12X, and of course Spektrum module-equipped FM transmitters.
