RC helicopter for a newbie

by Alexis
(Seattle)

My hubby's birthday is next week and he expressed interest in owning a RC helicopter. I am completely lost! He's 32, never mentioned this before, and I want to give him a good "starter" that he will enjoy, it will last, and that my 2 kids won't break. Please advise, I will appreciate any and all advise :)

Thank you.

How old are the kids...
by: Pete

A good one to consider is E-Flite's Blade CX2.
This is a co-axial heli, very stable and easy to fly from the box. A single rotor helicopter is a lot harder to fly and takes a great deal of practice. But if a co-axial one like the Blade CX2 isn't what he had in mind, then a simple 4 channel Fixed Pitch one will be OK, something like a Walkera Dragonfly 4 or EF Sabre.
The FP helicopters are more of a handful, hence the 'how old are the kids?' remark ;-)
